In the context of the French-Brazilian CNPq project on Quantum transport of light and cold matter, we are looking for a motivated candidate to realize an 8-10 month post-doctoral stay in one of the French partner laboratory:
– In Strasbourg University, on quantum simulations of large systems (collective scattering dynamics & matrix product states techniques) with Johannes Schachenmayer;
– In Université Sorbonne Paris Nord, on experiments with two-dimensional superfluids on curved surfaces, with Hélène Perrin, or with atoms close to surfaces, with Daniel Bloch and Athanasios Laliotis;
– In Nice (Université Côte d’Azur), on experiments of collective light scattering by cold atomic clouds, with Mathilde Hugbart and Robin Kaiser.
The duration of the stay will be 8 to 10 months. The selected candidate will benefit from a CNPq scholarship (2.100 euros/month, plus bonus for high-cost cities – CNPq Portaria 2078/2024), installation grant, and travel expenses, in the frame of a CNPq International Cooperation Project.
The candidate can be either experimentalist or theorist, and experience in quantum physics, atomic physics, or optics is an advantage. According to CAPES rules, (s)he must be Brazilian or hold a permanent visa in Brazil.
Deadline for applications: Until filled.
Beginning of the post-doctoral stay: Until the 01/11/2025
Interested candidates should send their CV to romain@ufscar.br, along with contact from two references for recommendation letters.
